November already???

Hard to believe but yes, the snow and winter are coming. A few items of note:

1.  Remembrance Day: The Remembrance Day field trip has been revised to include all of our class. Grade 5s and 6s will be attending. This is a special event as this trip has traditionally been reserved for Grade 6s only. We will be departing from school in the morning then taking a school bus to the museum. Any parents who would like to participate are welcome to meet us at the museum. Admission to the Canadian War Museum is free on Remembrance Day.

2.  Math Night at Farley Mowat: Farley Mowat Public School Council is pleased to welcome Marian Small, internationally renowned author, speaker and professional development consultant for improved mathematics education. Marian will present strategies for Helping Students Succeed in Mathematics on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Farley Mowat Public School Gymnasium. All parents are welcome! For more information please see this link: http://farleymowatps.wordpress.com/2013/10/28/math-night-at-farley-mowat/

3. Ski & Snowboard Program: Registration is underway for the ski & snowboard program. Please remember to: 1) fill in the paper permission forms (3), 2) return a cheque written to the school for the appropriate amount, and 3) complete the online registration profile. More information can be found at: http://farleymowatps.wordpress.com/ski-snowboard/

4. Progress reports and interviews: Progress reports will be coming home tomorrow. Included will be an interview request. I usually ask to meet with all parents and students in November as I feel it is a good occasion to clarify any misunderstandings to ensure a successful school year. Should the time I have suggested be unsuitable, please return the sheet indicating so and I will try my best to reschedule a more convenient time.

C'est tout pour aujourd'hui!
