Let's Give Hunger the Boot

CLIK (Katimavik’s Social Awareness Club) is hosting a food and winter clothing drive from
Monday December 7th to Thursday December 17th 2015. All proceeds from the drive will be
directly donated to the “Kanata Food Cupboard” and “The Snowsuit Fund” both located in
Ottawa. Both charities will also accept cash, so if you would rather make a monetary donation
that will be gladly accepted.

The class that raises the most food/clothing items (calculated per student) will win a sweet
surprise. Thank you for helping us help those less fortunate right here in our own
community this Holiday Season!!

“The Food Cupboard” does not accept home preserves, homemade baked goods or other
homemade dishes. They will also not any accept items that have been partially used or opened,
or that have an expiration date that falls within the next three months.

Winter Clothing Items Needed:

Boots of all sizes
Gently used winter outerwear (size infant to adult)

Every year, “The Snowsuit Fund” receives about 16,000 snowsuit requests for children up to the
age of 15 - that’s a lot of cold kids. And it takes plenty of donations of good used suits and
money (about $875,000 dollars is their annual target) to keep them warm. Many of their
clientele have older children in need of winter clothing, or the parents themselves are in need of
a warm coat as well so all sizes welcome.
