Full Steam Ahead!

We are hard at work across our curriculum areas and we are making good progress in French, Social Studies, and Science. We are creating a class scary story in celebration of Halloween as well as to focus on the elements of writing: Characters, Setting, and Problem. We are also taking the opportunity to review the writing process: Brainstorming|Ideas, Rough Copy, Revision|Correction, Good Copy.

Next Monday on Halloween we will be holding a party to celebrate 2 months of school together. We voted as a class and agreed upon a Potluck-style party. Students have selected their choice of dish to bring, hopefully they have let their parents know! Please remember that we do have students with nut|seed allergies and so anything brought to school must be nut-free and any homemade treats must be clearly labeled with all ingredients.

Finally, teachers are in the middle of preparing progress reports. These will be coming home in the middle of November. We will then hold Parent-Teacher interviews. I typically use these as an opportunity to meet with parents and student. Please look for more information when Progress Reports come home.
