Monster Bash and More!

Happy Tuesday all and welcome back after a long Thanksgiving weekend.

We are now in the midst of preparing for Monster Bash, our annual school Halloween celebration. This year our class and Mme Zehrt's class will be creating the 'Scary Video', a remake of the Thriller dance. Of course, this will be with a 'Farley Mowat'-style twist! We will be practicing our dance over the next week then filming it at the end of the day on Thursday, October 24 after the last break. We ask that students bring their zombie costumes (used or old shirts) and makeup that day in order to "dress" the part. In preparation for this, we have been practicing the dance in gym class using the instructional video located here as our guide. We will be following this as our template of an age-appropriate recreation of the dance.

We understand that some families may have objections to their child participating in this activity. Students have been given instructions to discuss and view the above video together with their parents. Should you have questions or concerns regarding this activity, please do not hesitate to write a note in the agenda or email.

Due to the long Thanksgiving weekend and Eid celebrations, the grammar homework will be delayed until next week. 

Please return as soon as possible the permission forms for our walking field trip to the Chapman Mills Conservation Area. Finally, please remember that photo orders are due by Thursday, October 17th and that we will be doing retakes and class photos on November 6.
