Structures and Space
We have recently started our science study of two new units: Forces Acting on Structures (Grade 5s) and Space (Grade 6s). Below are two resources which can help students better understand these units while working at home:
1. Stellarium
A free software download based on an Open-Source design, Stellarium allows user to recreate the sky on their computer. It can be downloaded from: www.stellarium.org.
2. Cargo Bridge 1 & 2
Two games which feature a realistic physical environment. The object is to move cargo across a bridge which you design. Different objects weigh different amounts which affect your design choices and, ultimately, whether you succeed or not! Cargo Bridge 2 expands upon the first with more types of cargo and new puzzles to solve.
